WALTHAM, Mass. (USA) PerkinElmer, Inc., a global leader focused on improving the health and safety of people and the environment, today announced that it has acquired the French instrument service company SOCOMA SAS from its owner Jean-François Bounaix.

The acquisition of SOCOMA will enable Perten Instruments Group AB, which PerkinElmer acquired in December 2014, to expand its sales, service and support for customers in France.

Perten is a leading supplier of grain analyzers, including the Aquamatic AM 5200 moisture analyzers, Inframatic NIR protein grain analyzer and Falling Number analyzers.

“With this investment, we significantly strengthen our French organization.  Our service and support team will be even closer to our customers, improving our local support and providing increased responsiveness,” said Sven Holmlund, President and CEO of Perten Instruments.

SOCOMA’s current President Jean-François Bounaix, will stay with the company and said, “It is my strong conviction that the new organization will bring value both to the grain traders and to Perten Instruments.”
